Osprey Village

Employment Services

For all of us, employment is an activity that brings independence, meaning, and challenge to our lives.  It provides us income, new friendships, and a sense of accomplishment.

For individuals with disabilities, employment can be difficult to obtain and maintain.  In fact, the 2015 census report indicated that unemployment was twice as high for adults with disabilities than for those without disabilities.

Osprey village believes that meaningful, competitive wage employment is an important part of the wellbeing for our loved ones with disabilities.  It is for this reason that OVI has developed a program to assist in finding and keeping meaningful employment.
Our job coaches work one-on-one with individuals to:

  • Learn and practice life skills (budgeting, transportation, social skills, and communication)
  • Learn and practice marketable skills (administrative skills, job seeking skills, cpr/first aid, culinary, cosmetology, service work, etc)
  • Gain on-the-job training (working aside our consumers to ensure they learn the aspects of their job and what it takes to maintain it)

OVI collaborates with several area businesses and colleges to create a holistic approach to employment.
